this a.m. i got an email from what looked like ebay.......really LOOKED real !!!!!!
but the link asked for my id & password .......& i know thats not normal for ebay....so i forwarded it to ebay....& they replied back that it was indeed a scam to get my id & password.
the massage was to the effect.....
my account info needed to be updated ..or they may have to close my account.
any email that has to ask YOU for your id (& ESPECIALLY YOUR PASSWORD ) should be viewed as a scam......
watch it y'all !!!!!!!!! also they disquised it as a real looking ebay sign-on block

Thanks Tommy.

I'm a regular on the Bay so I'll watch out for it.

If you get something like that, send it to [email protected]. They will tell you if it's real, and if it isn't they will go after whoever sent it. The red flag is when they ask for your password.

on a related note:

Ive been getting a LOT of fake PayPal email saying:

"You have added [email protected] as a new email address for your
PayPal account."

Then there's PayPal login links that take you to the scammer's site so they can steal your username and PWD.

As far as paypal goes ... make sure any email "from" Paypal addresses you by both first and last name ... that's one easy way to know if its a fake or not. Also .... if you ever click on a link in a spoof email look at the address bar in the browser and make sure the page is on the server the email said it was. (link says "paypal.com/something" but in the browser you see http://192.168.299.999/something - thats a scam)

I have 4 IDs on Ebay, 2 of which I use a lot, & I get these fake emails on a constant basis......from Paypal too. It's kinda funny when you click on the link in the email & it goes to an Ebay "sign in" page, & you can sign in with any two word for a username & password & it'll say you've logged in.
