Hey fellow knuckleheads....I have a problem. It is definitely all me, so, let's get to it and I am sure someone here can help me out.

I got my rack for my bass. It consists of the following from top to bottom:

Power unit
wireless
EQ
Compressor/Limiter
GK Bass amp

That is what my problem is. I heard a "tap tap tap" noise that would come and go. Not sure why...so, I disconnected all the cables to try and limit it down. Well...I found out the problem...embarrassing as it is...it was someone's cell phone with a voice message on vibrate.

Problem now....I did not mark the cables as to what goes where and I can't get my rack back up and running with everything. Obviously, I know where the power goes....that one is easy.

I need to get the EQ, compressor/limiter and the amp hooked up. Can I get a what goes where to where from someone. I was able to get one piece of gear to work with the amp....but...not the other and I just had to walk away from it.

Thanks and....go easy on me! ;)

You should be able to rebuild it in a similar fashion to connecting up a pedal board - you just daisy-chain the devices. Connection order may be inportant to you, but the physicality of it is the same.

Example:

From the GK, Effects send to:

Effects return on the comp/limit

Effects send on the comp/limit to:

Effects return on the EQ

Effect send on the EQ to:

Effect return on the GK.

OUT to IN, OUT to IN, OUT to IN.

From another angle;

Effects loop OUT on the GK to effects loop IN on the comp/limit

Effects loop OUT on the comp/limit to effects loop IN on the EQ

Effect loop OUT on the EQ to effects loop IN on the GK.

hehe.. and here i was thinking you sold a pickup or 2.. gheheh

since he has wireless i presume he can choose where in the chain to put the compressor and eq... id do it this way:

1. wireless
2. eq
3. compressor
4. gk main input

the wireless puts out a line level signal, so it would be the same if you put the rest of the effects in front of the amp or in the effects loop. id put the eq second because that way you would have eq possibilites both before (the equalizer) and after the compressor (the amps equalizer). giving a certain frequency a boost might produce different results on the compressor.

but that is just my suggestion.. ;)
