Either times are hard for him, or he's just getting rid of some excess gear.

I've seen several artists sell off their equipment on eBay. Why give Christie's or Sotheby's a huge cut, when you can give eBay a measly 5% of the ending price?

I think the point was that the guitar is not really his to sell. It's the property of MusicMan.
