I have bought and sold 2 Lukes now. Don't get me wrong I love the guitar for its quality, versatility, and playability. However, I never completely bonded with the neck. I don't think it is a bad thing it is just preference.

I did have an Am. Stand. Strat that I put a set of Lukather pickups in and I really liked that alot. I am now playing a Suhr Classic which I really like. I find I am partial to Fender style necks.

So, is the EBMM equal to the Am. Std. Fend. neck going to be found in the Silhouette Special?

I think the Sil Special is more like a normal C shape as opposed to the Luke's V shape. I can understand how you didn't bond with the Luke V. I love it, but it is a little idiosyncratic compared to a more "normal" C shape and not for everybody.

I highly recommend the Silo Special neck if you like traditional Strat necks. The only trouble is that you won't want to go back to a lacquered neck!

The shape of the Luke V neck I actually really liked alot. I wish it was wider at the nut. I think that is a big part of it for me.

if you weren't digging the narrowness at the nut then I think you won't like Silo Special. It is very narrow at the nut (same as Axis)

No one has even mentioned the EBMM EVH necks-
These necks are the Shiznit-
Smooth and feels like a Strat neck -sort of_ The quality and perfection is second to none-

I think this is one of those questions that's tough to answer over the Internet. If you can, try and find a dealer or forumite nearby that has a few you can try out. There's just no substitute for actually playing a different neck and seeing if you bond with it.

Certainly, keeping with your preference for a strat type setup you should have a look at the Silhouette Special and Albert Lee, both of which have more of a traditional neck shape.
