... and I don't like how it looks. I've realized that I never look at my bass' back.

I guess it cannot be fixed, but what really worries me is the possibility of getting bigger. Should I be concerned? Honestly, this ruined my day. Thank you in advance for your input!

If it still plays good, sir, I would try not to sweat it too much. These kind of finish things happen. Especially to basses good enough to be played a lot. :)

Some nice chops there my friend. (técnica excelente) :)

Judging by your vids I am guessing that regular neck bends might eventualy have some impact on the epoxy finish. In which case I would suspect it is only a skin deep wound. Just a guess mind you.

Hmmm..is your hand resting there when in upper position?

My friend Ronnie's guitar screws are like this, but it's from his, er...sweat...the screws near the pick guard and on the bridge, wherever he lays his hands 'wear out' faster than the screw where his hands don't go..maybe that's what's happening here?

Thank you again, guys!

I don't think so. I never rest my hand there and after 22 years of playing I'm completely sure I don't suffer from "body chemistry" problems, specially considering that I'm very picky about having my hands clean before picking my instrument. :)

On the other hand, I strongly believe that the problem may lay there. Never thought of it before.

At least it's on the back side of the bass - much less distracting there, although, having seen your Youtube vids, I don't think anyone is worrying too much about the finish on your bass when you're playing, Alva!:cool:

My bass already has plenty of it's own character (sigh), and not even 2 years old, yet....

.....and, no, I don't play shirtless:eek::p
