Congratulations on your aquisition! Thats sad that GC messed up your order, but it's still a JP-6, and the piezo should be amazing. I would have got a piezo with my JP-6, but couldn't afford the additional charge involved.
Sorry to hear GC got the order wrong. I guess you could send it back, but I am sure after you play it, you will not want to. I have the same one with the natty headstock. That is still an awesome axe bro! I'd keep it and play till my fingers fell off....like I do now....hehehhehe.....the piezo is an amazing system which I wish I had on all of my JP's......
You know, I used to HATE an EBMM without matching stock. For some reason, it just seemed to look half-a** to me.
Then I got my Sil Spec last year, and it had a natty stock (OC has modified my vocabulary LOL!), and aside from the fact that my Sil Spec is just so nice to have and to play, the natty grew on me...and this guitar is going on 9 years old now.
Steve, overall, congrats on your purchase, and glad that you finally got it. I wouldn't (personally) be too upset about the natty stock, unless you're looking at it with the eyes that I did previous (hey, if I can be converted, anyone can!) about preference, etc. -- they look good either way. I would hope, though, that you got your coin back from GC for the upcharge for the matching, etc. and that you did get the case, as was talked about before. (just curious, what GC was this, if you don't mind my asking? I live about 4 miles away from the GC at the Scottsdale Pavilions...)
Also, on an unrelated side note...you, me, mace, norm, tabs and anyone else in the forum shadows should plan an Arizona EBMM convention (anyone in the surrounding areas and those wishing to attend would, of course, also be welcome to join) and hang out over some beers sometime. We'll drink and bring pics of our "babies".
Steve, I am glad that your wait is over. Congratulations.
I cannot add anything more to the non matching headstock than what the others have mentioned. However if there is an extra charge for the matching headstock (I am not sure if there is), you do want to ensure that GC refunds the difference. It is YOUR hard-earned money after all..
