Hi Knuckleheads,
a few days ago Derek posted pics of a Luke one in the new sledge finish.
I guess one was sent to the man himself because he used it at the G3 in Mexico!
Here is the proof...

I hope the link works, otherwise go to the f***book profile of Mr. Satriani!

There are a few videos on youtube... looks like he used it for the Jam and "Hero w/1000 Eyes" from Candyman... pretty appropriate. :)

I have always preferred the sound of the Luke I to the II... I have not yet played an LIII, I used to own two Luke I's as well as a Luke II.

In the videos (really crappy audio!) I hear a big difference in the sound. They all sound great but
for me the Luke I just seems bigger sounding... more full and heavy, which was exactly how I perceived the guitars I owned.

Maybe someday there will be a Floyd Rose option on the LIII!!
That would be the best of both worlds. :)

Sorry to awaken an older thread, but I don't know how I've missed this. As someone who has preordered a red pearl luke reissue which should arrive in January, I am stoked to watch these clips. I only know of one other knucklehead who's got a sledge L1. Is anyone else here in on the party the second time around or is it just Tom and I? I have started a group for reissue L1s but it might be just me, and perhaps Tom in it...

Appalling quality clips but that's YT!

Andy,

If I'm not mistaken I believe that Jeff, (dibart77), also has one of the Sledge Luke 1 reissues.

Looks like it's just you, Jeff, myself, and Steve Lukather that are in the group currently. =)

Membership is extremely exclusive it appears, and I for one feel extremely fortunate to be in this group.

Cheers,

Tom
