I had already given a $200 dollar downpayment for a fully loaded JP7 in a store, now Petrucci announces that he´s about to upgrade his guitar!!!!!

What shall I do??? shall I wait for the new one???? are they going to make 7 strings??.

If I buy it now, probably very soon is going to lose its value

What shall I do????

I'm pretty sure (based on stuff ive read on this forum) that the "new" JP is not done being designed. some day it will be... but so far nothing's set in stone.

so with that said... I say, enjoy the JP7 :)

In 05 I was one of the first in line to order a y2d. I got the guitar in November.
In 06 I was one of the first in line to order a 20th anniv SiLO. I bet I get the guitar in November.
The earlist the guitar will be available for order (most likely) will be NAMM Feburaury. If then. Care to guess how long it might take?

Get the guitar you want now and start saving up for the next one. That's how we do things around here.

and be sure your EBMM will not loose it's value ! For instance Luke 1 model is far dearer than Luke 2 in the second hand market

so enjoy your fully loaded Pet and when the "sitrucci" will be out you will have plenty of time either to save or to sell your Pet :D

When a company is constantly evolving and creating products this is an unfortunate downside. There are some really big companies that you dont have that problem with because they are selling the same guitar since the fifties. Ouch babe

Well, I say get the one you have on order. Cause, next thing you know, Petrucci might go a different direction as he has in the past. Not his fault, he wants what he wants. Next thing you know, it will be another year and you will still be waiting. Keep in mind folks, he still plays the ones already made. There is nothing wrong with them. Get the 7 string and be done with it. You and all of us have plenty of time to sit back and wait for anything new.....IF it comes out. There are no guarantees here......

Yeah. If you like the guitar enough to order one, then what may or may not be coming in the future doesn't really matter.

I have at least 2 more JP6's coming in the next few months.

Not holding my breath for the next model. Will deal with it when it arrives.:D

I'm with every one else here, complete the order you won't be disappointed and will love the guitar forever. Who know's when the next version on the JP is gonna happen 6 months, 6 years, it's all up to JP.

Buy what you've got your deposit on and play the hell out of it. :)

Yeah!

You guys are right, it´s been a long wait already (about 3 weeks haha) just to get the pearl redburst color. Let´s enjoy that beauty in about a week, and we´ll see what the future holds!!!:D

Yeah, those big companies do change it up though.........adding a piece of mirror to cover the entire top of the guitar is pure genius
