I'm sorry, but there is only one cure for GAS, and it's expensive. You're just gonna have to buy that Stingray.

You don't wanna fix the TNT? That's surely the cheap option for those of us with cash flow issues!

Heavy crap? Like there's anything singularly heavier than a bass combo amp!?

Good point about weight of combos. In the process of lightening my load, I've found I'd rather carry 100lb than 80lb, if the 100 is 50 in each hand instead of 80 all on one side. Plus you can break the heavey stuff into seperate trips with something lighter in the other hand, etc etc etc. I went to heads and cabs, away from big combos, to reduce the lugging. I'd rather have a pair of 8ohm 2x10s than a single 4ohm 8x10 to wrestle around. Look at it as opportunity and see where you might stand to benefit. It can work that way.

The money thing? Big drag. For any given result, more $$ can get it for you minus a lot of excess weight. Even the cab thing works that way. Compare a pair of 12s to an equivalent 2x12. Going for the pair means less heavy wrestling matches with your gear, but it will cost extra, for more wooden walls, carpet, jacks, etc just to build two smaller but seperate cabs.

Mommy says I'm not allowed to buy anymore basses until I get an amp, pay my mortgage, maintenance, car insurance, cable tv, internet, electric and student load bills.

While you're at it, buy some clothes! They'll take you a lot more seriously at the music store

I wouldn't bid on that any longer Joe. Going to be cheaper to get the one you have fixed.

IMHO
