so my 20th silo is somewhere....exactly where, that I dunno.

so UPS left a tag on my offices door at 8:30pm on friday saying they tried to deliver it but nobody answered so they'll retry today (monday). So ALL DAY i sat in the office waiting and waiting and waiting. finally an hour ago I called and they said they tried to deliver it today at 6:00pm. BS... i was here. we have a crazy, insane buzzer that can wake the dead, nobody rang it at 6pm. there is no way in hell i would not hear them ring the buzzer... its impossible. plus, there were about 7 other people here! even if i was in the can, someone would have heard it... everyone knows ive been waiting for UPS.

i called UPS at about 7pm and got the "6pm bad news" so I arranged a pickup at the depot tonight. they said they'd call me within the hour to let me know when the truck is back. so i get the call and they say "ya, the truck unloaded and the packages are on the conveyor belt somewhere so you cant pick it up".

GRRRR. so theyre going to try n redeliver it tomorrow. with my current luck they'll pretend to deliver it tomorrow and ill get the same runaround.

im soooo annoyed. all the guy had to do was ring the bell. is it that hard?

For him? Apparently yes. He is driving a truck delivering packages. He is not working on the Space Shuttle. A button that "rings" is a difficult concept for some. I've seen this guy before - for fun he hops around a big foreign obelisk. He's probably already dropped your Silo 7 or 8 times, so relax. You'll get the pieces of it sometime tomorrow around lunch, you know, when you are away from the office. :p

(DISCLAIMER: for any former/current delivery personnel: I only write in jest and for the purpose of annoying phatty, please refrain from any "well I use to deliver packages and I'm not a moron" retorts or complaints. Thank you. As for the monkeys from 2001 - you're on your own.)

i have never, ever had an problem with UPS, but this is pretty rediculus. when i called tonight (at 7) they said he tried delivering it at 5:59pm. I repleid "ive been here all day, ive been waiting for this package for a while and ive been glued to my desk - there's no way they rang the bell". the person on the phone replied with "i guess they assumed the business was closed...". and my comback was "so they assumed we were open on a friday night at 8:30pm but not at 6 on a monday? ive been here all day, they could have tried ringing the bell!"

eh... im going to the depot now... "appointment" or not, i want my silo!

Their business model (ups fedex) is really dumb, they should let you select "pick up at depot only" when you order it. I've waited for days dancing back and forth with these guys, it would be so much easier to just pick it up.

Damn, Arin. Knew what this was about as soon as I saw the title of the thread ...

Go save your baby from the depot.

Absolutely true. I've wished I could do this several times.

I've had some "fun" with UPS over the years, including drivers who claimed to attempt delivery but found no one home, or one who said I refused delivery because I wouldn't pay the duties/taxes/brokerage fees (never saw him, either)... Once, after trying to deliver a guitar when I actually wasn't home, they bounced my guitar between Toronto and three other "hubs" for about seven days trying to decide if they'd attempt to deliver it again or return it to sender... I've also had more than one guitar arrive in a box that looked like it was speared by a fork lift... Thankfully, I've always received my guitar in the end, and I'm sure you will too, Phatty... or should I say Duckky? hard to find a cutesy and consoling term of endearment for a suffering Phatduckk... as my daughter would say (while patting your head) "Aw... Muffin..." ;)

Sounds like every experience I've ever had with UPS. But I won't go into that rant.
I hope it shows up today, and in good shape, Phatty.

FEDEX does allow this option my friend, you can request to have it held at the station Please don't apply the same attributes to FEDEX as you do UPS they are different in fact FEDEX moves tons of OOOPS freight every day

What gets me is UPS is UNION and these drivers and emloyees are getting paid better than some professionals and they do stuff like this you wonder ifthey have any intelligence at all They have done it to me before exact same thing and I went to the OOOPS office and wouldn't leave until I had my guitar in hand
I try my best to avoid any funding of UPS.......... personal preference

I hope you get yours in good shape soon

Aaaaaaaaaah . You meant UPS in the thread title. I've spent all week looking at it and wondering what the opposite of "downs" had done to offend you !!!!!
