Hi Fellas,
Well after a very long period of LackofMusicmanBassitis and Bongitis I have finally returned to the EBMM fold. Well almost, my new Black Bongo 4 HH is currently on route to me. I can't wait! I had posted a small thread on talkbass about choosing a Bongo vs a Sp$%tor Euro 4 and out comes Bovinehost with his Bongo collection pics, well that pretty much sealed it! Anyway I'm glad to be back and I'll posts pics when it arrives. Take Care Guys,
Brent:D

I'm laughing because of my response to you "over there".

Brent's question was "Musicman Bongo 4 HH or Spector Euro 4?" Of course, everyone was weighing in, basically saying, "buy what I did!" and so on, and I posted this:

Nah, just kidding. Get the Spector.

Thanks BP it feels great to be back!

Bovinehost thanks again. I was noticing that the strings on your Bongos have red silk ends. What brand are you using if you don't mind me asking? I promise I won't tell Big Poppa!

Hey Fellas,
So the Bongo arrived on Friday. I had an extremely long weekend working so I said "Nope I won't even open it until Monday". My wife said my self control has improved . So Monday gets here and I'm exhausted. So there I am sitting with my 2nd bowl o' coffee and I realize I can't play the new bass until I clean up the guest room/jam space. (Man am I a great Hubby or what?). So after cleaning I open up the box (I know the anticipation is killing you) and Ba Blam there is my Bongo! Beautiful, black and shiny. I plug it in (notice I said "It" not he or she, it is a Bongo after all!) to my GK setup, set everything flat on the amp and bass and... wow! Great sound! I did a little experimenting as I was playing to "Walking on the Moon" by the Police by blending the bridge pickup in more and adding a little low mid boost. Now I know Sting used a fretless bass on that tune but wow, with a little vibrato the Bongo was singing.
Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble. The setup on the bass was perfect right out of the box. Actually I haven't met a Musicman Bass yet that wasn't setup perfect out of the box to be honest. Anyway I haven't had any chance to take any real pictures and I know the rules, but here is pretty much what the bass looks like. Gloss Black HH with black pearloid pickgaurd. Really stunning. Although I may change the pickgaurd out for shell or abalone. I've always liked black basses with shell pickgaurds for some reason. The only thing I was disappointed with is that the cup holders cost extra.:D
BP, you done real good on this one! If you ever head East or North East stop in and I'll cook you up some pancakes and real Vt. maple syrup. Don't worry it's fat free.:D
Good to be back Fellas,
Take Care,
Brent
