My 2 Silo Specials don't feature birdseye and yes, the necks are rather thick but not that wide. Both are full maple and me too, I had to get accustomed to that for a moment, but now I won't ever part with any of them. Lately have acquired two Axis (Super) Sport models and I absolutely dig the asymmetric profile of them, too.
Well, I guess one can get accustomed to any of the EBMM necks around -they all feel smooth, fast and perfect
...oh - I didn't get my hands on any of the finished neck BFRs already - just the SUB1s, but they too feel great and beyond compare to any finished neck I played before...
