I realize this is a EBMM forum, so I know what the likely answer will be LOL

I have a Luke 3 HH. Of course there is also an HSS model. After owning the Luke awhile, I have decided I definitely am a single coil neck pickup guy. Which means my quest for a "do anything" guitar will likely be either a Luke HSS or the Fiore. I LOVE all the demos and tones I have heard from the Fiore, and the Luke also sounds great (plus I'm a huge Lukather fan; I only just discovered Lettieri.)

The 2 guitars are extremely similar... I think the Fiore may be lighter, the Fiore has many more switching options of course, but really 95% of the time I'll either be on the bridge or the neck. Both do the in-betwen (strat) sounds really well. I like the idea of the Fiore NOT requiring a battery (the Luke has a preamp in it).

I can compare all the specs, but what I'm really hoping for is someone who has compared them in person, or at least tried both... especially regarding the NECK PROFILE of the Fiore.... I have a DGT and find it's neck comfortable but a little bigger/fatter than I prefer (the Fender Modern C is pretty much where I live.) And the Luke neck is SMALL... small at the nut, and small profile. Almost feels like a kids guitar in my hands (I do not have large hands, and it still feels small).

Any input/discussion appreciated!

it’s probably different for professional musicians, but for me. If I look at the guitar and start GASing so bad it affects my sleeping. That’s it :). I mean there is a practical question if you gonna like playing it, but these days with free returns and no question asked policies — just get it if you feel like :). Personally if I wanted another super strat that is not L2/3/4, I’d go with Suhr or Anderson.

Well Luke fan here, get an HSS, had a Fiore nice but PRS has never been my cup of tea as much as I tried, I would do the PRS Studio over the Fiore, I am currently doing a large downsizing due to space limitations and pending retirement, YEA!!!!!!!

After I am done only non EBMM I will have is my Joe B Les Paul, good luck in your quest

Well, I don't think any of the Fiores are gorgeous... that white maple neck is terrible, I think. They should have gone with roasted, or at least tinted. I hate that new white maple. The Lukes are easily more attractive. But when I heard to TONES of the Fiore (online, many demo vids), I must say, the tone spoke to me. And I could live with the white neck, if I had THAT base tone to work with. I'm not a fan of high trebles, and apparently Lettieri tweaked the pickups to have a smooth high end, specifically. On my Luke 3, the Transitions sound good, but the in-between positions have me reaching for the tone control, alot of high-highs there.

You can also look for different pickups. There are so many cool humbuckers out there that completely changed my opinion about no H in the neck. Also there are H-sized P90 that you can put in the neck of your L3. Many options… but if you like the tone of that PRS, get it :) I also seem them second hand for a good price. However, I am a Luke fan, so I wouldn’t ;)

I have the Fiore. It’s pretty close to pattern regular if my memory is correct, close to that Goldilocks zone. I had always heard the DGT was in the same space. The neck measurements are on the PRS website. I would check how far apart they are to see if it’s for you.

Hi folks.

Music Man have always asked that their official forum just be about their own guitars and basses. While well-known, they are a relatively small maker in terms of output and therefore sales and ownership. If they open the forum to discussion of other instruments it won't be long before a substantial part of the forum is other brand's instruments and they'd rather avoid that. PRS have a similar rule, for the same reasons, on their own forum.
