I've fallen in love with Slinkys. And they seem to love me back. Love the tone and they work on almost any bass I have.

Just a thanks.

I got 2 new sets of EB strings today. The hybrid slinkys sound great on my sterling. The other set was some regular slinkys for my sr5 when the stock ones die.

On my "surf bass" I've always played flats. I switched to Power Slinkys a couple of months ago and have been very happy.

i was a big fan of another brand of strings for a while. really into this one set of stainless steal strings (DR HiBeams to b exact) ... anywho, when i got my BC Sterling a while back i fell in love with the Super Slinkys that were on it.

so now i have 10 sets of super slinkys on standby :) 5 nickel, 5 stainless. tiz good stuff. honestly i stayed away from Slinkys for a long while cuz i judged a book by its cover - i didnt like the packaging. lame huh? anywho - ive seen the light and its got pink packaging

I thought the same about Slinkys... (ugly package, LOL) Until I got my first Ray...
Man, that was a revelation! Would not want anything else on my basses now

The guitar strings are pretty cool, too!

Been using 'em for the past year or so...lots of choices (too many, in fact...I can't figure out whether I like 8s or 9s or 10s or 11s or...:D)

..okay...8s can be a little TOO slinky!

The packaging issue is really funny. Do you know how crazy poweful that artwork is? Do you know that we have the best seling bass string in the gc chain and I have only placed one ad in 10 years. The Slinky trademark is one of the most valuable in the music industry.

I remember the day my dad called all of the neighborhood kids over to the store. ( we lived just about a block and a half from the store) He put one Super Slinky label if front of us the was black and white and asked us if we liked it and then pulled out a day glo pink and all the kids went nuts for the dayglo..... the rest is history.

Strings are one thing that I was never able to tell the difference from one brand to the other. Of course I can't tell the difference in a blind test between coke and pepsi, miller and bud, etc......

I however will be buying EB strings. It is best to buy the strings that are made for your instrument.

I was just changing strings on my JP6 last night, and I was looking at the individual string envelopes in the Super Slinky package. I realized that there was something familiar and comforting about the artwork and lettering. It was like a cross between a comic book and a tattoo. I hope you never change it, 'cause it's like an old friend. (I've been playing Super Slinky strings for 20+ years and I really can't tolerate any other brands.)

Yes, it really is some appealing art and colors. I would gladly sport a shirt with the logo because it looks so cool. I can't say that about other brands.
