Just thought I'd share a pic of my Ernie Ball basses. The Dargie Sterling is a long time fave of mine, perfect in every way. The gold Sterling 5 string just arrived from Pete Dubaldo and is such an awesome bass! Just the right weight and it's the most comfortable, easy to play 5 I've ever had. The white Stingray is another recent find, it's the lightest HH Ray I've found. Last is an '86 Sabre that I rescued from ebay, someone had put a Stingray pickup in the bridge position so I returned it to stock configuration. I've got a black pickguard on order for it, the white pearl is one I had laying around.

I've owned many of all the single H models and several different HS models and the HH gives me the best tones.

The Sterling 5 really is slim, isn't it? Smaller than the SR4.

I don't currently have one, but the HHs are my favorite, too. The HH in the neck position is a total P Bass killer. I have a HS Stingray, and it leans more toward the Jazz Bass palette, in my opinion.

HH= Precision Killer?
HS= Jazz Killer?

I'd say the HH is both. Position 2 is a Jazz killer for SURE.

Thanks guys. I think you'd really like the Sterling 5 Travis. I had a very nice Stingray 5 years ago and knowing how you feel about your SR5 and Sterling, this is a perfect mix of the two.

I agree with you Robert, I think the #2 and #4 positions on HH models work in Jazz bass territory. The neck pickup on an HH does have the right low end and mids to cover P tones.

There's something really great about a bass with this much variety but no bad tones!

Beautiful Family. I love my HH too. It has been my #1 since '06. I am looking to get a Bongo 5HH in the near future. Gotta love those HH's:D

Ha, I was over Brad's tonight and it got me wanting another MM. I have played all those in the pic and they are all great. There's something really great about the '86 and the fiver? fugitaboutit! The pic doesn't do that color justice it's even cooler in person.
