I love my parents SOOOOO much!

hey, just yesterday i thought i was going to have to cancel my order for a SR30th due the fact that i had to quit my job in a kitchen due to problems with RSI and then had to take a job waitering where im lucky to get 5 hours work a week.

However!!!! today my parents told me that they had taken pity on me, especially since my only bass atm (my Y@m@h@ RBX) died, and have decided to pay the rest off my 30th for me, which is about half as ive already payed half off.

Right at the moment im feeling very excited, but also some guilt as i wanted to earn this bass on my own steam and dont like the idea of having to fall back on my parents for support, so i compromised with them and I will pay it all back as soon as i get some steady work.

so not long now untill I'll be joining the EBMM owners club! and when i post pictures, you ALL have to comment on how beautiful it is...even though a fair chunk of you own a 30th and and have seen it at least 50,000 times already

Thats what parents are for...they do what they can do and they are rewarded when you handle it like you did....and I dont know anyone here who is bored with the 30th's

haha yeh i guess thats what parents are there for, well thats what they said as well at least. but i still feel kinda bad cuz my family doesnt have heaps of money, but it does mean alot to me, especially after Beth's thread yesterday and the emotions that brought out in us all

and BP i dont think anyone could get bored of looking at those 30th's, everytime i see them i think

"Golly! thats one gee-wizz-super-duper lookin bass"

That's what i think when i look at my SR5. Just wait till i get a 20th.

I'm glad that I was able to come up with the money for my SR5 by myself. It was so worth it. But I'm definately grateful that my parents set me of on the right track.

well in case you arent (its always hard to tell over the internet) its basically a stingray on steroids. And had enough growl and a hot enough tone to turn the head of our own lord bongo away from his ever increasing collection of bongo basses.

I completely understand -- I still get excited every time I open the case of my 30th. It is a keeper, and hopefully it will be your bass for life.

I was all set to buy a "standard" Stingray after the holidays. Then, I made the "mistake" of playing a 30th at a music store. It was the best playing and sounding Stingray that I have ever played! Now I have serious GAS for a 30th!...

hahaha thanks azzy, yeh it has been a bit of a saga hasnt it, but hopefully it wont go on for too much longer. But am fully preparing myself for anything from the bass not working properly to the truck carrying it ploughing of a bridge into a watery grave. but lets not get our hopes up

I hope you play your 30th until it wears out. Then you contact customer service for an RA number and get a re-fret, re-buff and a smokin' pimp job. Then play your 30th until it wears out again. Do what ever you want to that bass so that it is unmistakably and undeniably yours.
This will show your parents that this act of generosity on their part brought you happiness for the rest of your life. That in turn will make them happier than it makes you.
