It is a bit easier to slap on my single H, but I have no problems slapping on my dual H. I find it interesting that so many bassists worry about the ability to slap on the HH Bongo. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some slap bass and my band has a solo break in one of our "Jam'n" tunes that I let loose with the above mentioned technique. But I'd say that a majority of us that gig regularly($$$) use the slap technique sparingly if at all. Yet it seems that a large percentage of bass players spend their "practice" time on spank'n the plank. I just wish one time I could walk into a guitar store and hear a kid playing a soulful groove. When I sit down to practice, I go over the things that are going to help me in a gig, not simply to show off but to improve the sound of the band as a whole. Slap is fun, but it doesn't pay MY bills. Obviously, this is all my opinion and it wasn't directed at you robobass.

The single H bongo is easier for me to slap on, but I feel it lacks a certain depth that the HH has. It's still burly as hell, but for those slow blues numbers the HH gets my vote. But if I'm wanting to let loose on a rock'n tune I'll pick up the single H. Your opinion and musical endeavors may differ and I'm guessing getting both would not be an option at this time.:D

When we set up the Bogo HH at EB, the pick up at the fret board is set at 8/32 of an inch. And believe me, before I set it on the rack for shipping, I slap and pop that bad boy hard, with no problem. If it's a bass that I set up, it's been slapped and popped! Push your Bongo! It'll take it and then some!
Thanks for your support and choice of bass
