I discovered these guys when I was working/living in Canada back in '99. Saw 'em live, great show. Liked 'em ever since. At first I thought he had some aftermarket pickup in the neck position in this vid, but I'm pretty sure this it's a single H, just with some sticker on the pickguard. Definitely single H Ray sound. Anyway, cool stuff.

same Ray, at least in the vid ... not sure about the recording, but who knows what his signal chain is. Sounds like a 5'er in the choruses, though. [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB7ttysYglQ&feature=related"]YouTube- I Mother Earth - No Coma[/nomedia]

Cool SR5 here ... [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2r1YcgKZOw&feature=related"]YouTube- I Mother Earth - Like the Sun Live on Open Mike[/nomedia]

Just on a kick, revisiting this stuff. It's too bad they never really "broke out". I don't think they're doing anything as IME anymore.

I posted about Bruce's basses awhile back but nobody had anything to share, there definalty is a HS configuration on that bass because I've seen this bass and a natural Sterling he had also with a single coil from a couple feet away squished against the stage the last time I saw them in Vancouver (2001? Billy Talent and 30 seconds to mars were their opening acts, don't know if those well know in the states) Bruce Gordon probably sparked my first interest in Musicman Basses, I looked him up a while back out of curiosity:

doing the blueman group.

These guys were freaking awesome live, I've seen them with finger Eleven as their opening act aswell as Edgefest 97 with Collective Soul, Our Lady Peace, the Tea Party, Silver Chair, Finger Eleven and a bunch more (that was their last tour with Edwin, the original singer, and it was Finger Eleven's first tour after discontinuing to be the Rainbow Butt Monkeys, a little CanCon trivia for ya) They 'broke out' in Canada, but too bad I guess not so in the States and beyond?

I ran sound for them in the 90s when they played Hermans here in Denver. I thought they were going to make it bigger that they did. Very tight band live!
