This is my first post!! Looks like a great forum!!!!

My question is that I just bought an EBMM Silhoutte with a maple neck fixed bridge and 2 PAF Pro Humbuckers. I want to change the pickups to a Dimarzio X2N in the Bridge and a Tone Zone in the neck. Do I need an F-Spaced Tone Zone or Standard spaced?

Thanks!

As Steve said...standard spaced. All neck pickups are standard spaced. Bridge pickups are only needed in f-spaced configurations when the bridge is a floyd rose

If you have the tremolo, the neck (Tone Zone) should be standard, and the bridge pup (X2N) SHOULD be F-spaced.

Ok so I have a fixed bridge, so that means that both are standard, right?

I accidentally bought standard-spaced Tone Zone, and not only it had a different pole spacing, it was different size then my current bridge pickup. Dimarzio website says X2N will work with both regular and F string spacing, so X2N may be a little smaller then your current pickup, not that there is anything wrong with that,

Am I right in thinking the X2N has the dual "bar" magnets?? In which case isn't the spacing a bit of a moot point? ;)

Oh well, what do I know. I'd be interested to see what you think of the Tone Zone in the neck, it's primarily a bridge pup.

Good luck

the X2N does have 2 bars no pole pieces. does that mean it doesnt matter what size the X2N is then?

My opinion here,

But, as a ToneZone user, I'd say do not put that in the neck position. It is a very hot pickup, and very bassy as is. I think it would sound like garbage in the neck position.

I know I want the X2N in the Bridge and the Tone Zone in the neck. I just need to know FOR SURE what the pickup spacing is! I keep getting mixed answers!

It's simple. It's not gonna matter with the X2N, which is a ****ty pickup IMO. And you're gonna want a standard spacing Tone Zone for the neck. But I don't really know what you're going for here.

Here's the basic breakdown.

If you have a trem, you get a F-spaced pickup in the bridge. If not, get a standard spacing. Neck pickups don't matter. They are standard spaced.

What type of music are you trying to play?
