Well the binding on an Axis, if memory serves me right is poured plastic, so I'm not sure your going to be able to just order up a new one. Try calling CS and checking with them.

The Axis binding is poured, but I am pretty sure it can be repaired. Not certain that Ernie Ball does these types of repairs, but I would call Dan in C.S. and he should be able to help you out.

They explained this during the Open House tour back in 2005.

the what?

The Open House was the first EBMM Forum Bash in San Luis Obispo, CA. We got to take a tour of the guitar factory to see how all the instruments are made from start to finish. Very detailed and an awesome sight to see.

The binding is poured. It is not some thing that just "comes off" and is replaced from what I can tell. Best bet is to call CS and see what they say.

perhaps a kind soul who was there would enlighten someone who wasnt and tell what poured means?
in my mind i see the body attached to a form and then the binding is poured into that form.. along the edge that is..

Yah man that's pretty much what they do, for the most part.
