O.K. folks. I've got a situation here. Although it could be a good one. About a week after I bought my Honeyburst Axis SS, I was visiting another EBMM dealer lookin' at their stock. I was curious what they had on order so I asked. The salesman said they had a Pacific Blueburst SS on order. So I thought that sounds like it's going to be a good one. I sort of forgot about it cause I have my honeyburst and really enjoy it.

So, fast forward to today and I happen to go into the same store. The Blueburst has arrived. It's beautiful. And a bonus.....it's got a piezo trem. I get to thinking. I can't afford to buy it, right now, especially after picking up my silhouette(which I'm not getting rid of). So we talk trade-in. I know I'm going to take a bit of a hit on the trade-in. Especially, with the Canadian dollar doing so well, people can get a new one for a great price.

Although, nothing is set in stone.....hoping I can work a better deal if I see him Monday. I'd have to pay another $500 to get the Blueburst with trade-in. Unfortunately, I have to pay taxes on the difference. I thought about private sale, but by the time I sell the honeyburst the blueburst could be gone.

What do guys think. Should I pull the trigger and get the Blueburst. I know it's a sin trading in a EBMM but I would be getting one in return. Your opinions are valued. Thanks for reading.

Either way you decide to do it...first make sure you like PLAYING the pac blue as much as the one you already own.

Go to the store and spend several hours if possible. The piezo is a great option to have. But some guitars just feel better than others even if they're the same model. If it's gonna be a back up maybe it's not as big a deal...but if you're looking for it to be your main guitar better to be certain.

Good luck.

sold, put it on the gold (card)

buy the blue burst, play them both for a while, and then ebay the one you like the least. or sell it to a friend. (pay off the gold card)

Well...if you don't want to go the plastic card route.....do what kbaim said....

While the blueburst may look stunning....if may not feel stunning in your hands......each axe has it's own personality....

It may sound different.......play it through the same amp you own if possible....and test drive that piezo as well....

If you do decide to get the blueburst....try to keep the other one if possible....so you may put it on layaway which helps you in that case.....

But, by all means....play it and play it for quite a while....you have to be sure.

I knew I could count on you guys. Thanks for your rational opinions. I'm off Monday, so I think I'm going to take an hour or so and just play the thing and see how it feels. And we'll see what can be worked out. And I'm not counting out putting down the plastic on the counter either. Like you guys suggested I'd play it for awhile and if need be, then sell the Honeyburst. We'll see what kind of deal he can give me buying the Blueburst outright with no trade. Going to ask about layaway, as well. We'll see what happens

Thanks again to everybody.

A $500 hit isn't that bad at all since you're gaining the piezo which in Canada averages about $250-350 depending on the dealer.

Layaway is the way to go since if you do not need to, after you're done paying off the PBB then you'll have an extra EBMM.
Good Luck on the negotiating. :)

POOR FOGGY.You'll get your balls one day.:p
What's everybody going to do when you finally get your guitar.:D :D :D :D

I was thinking about the piezo upgrade as well. Converted to CDN$ the piezo option is about $400. So, I wouldn't be doin bad at all. We'll have to wait and see.

Thanks

So I go into the guitar shop yesterday and give the Axis Blueburst a try.

I've got to say Koogie, you hit the nail on the head. You'd think two guitars of the same model would play the same or similar. Believe it or not, I did feel a difference. The Blueburst played like butter:D Not to say mine doesn't play well..........it definately does. But the blueburst did feel like it belonged in my hands.

Anyway, I put the guitar on hold, at the store, and I've got til thursday to make my mind up. I'll keep ya informed.

Thanks,
Scott
