exactly!!! i have a bunch of stuff that's gonna go ... not cuz of the new bass but cuz im moving to an apartment and have no room for 16 guitars :)

congrats dude!!!! ill be waiting along side ya
Kinda weird: I'm selling because I moved aswell... from a tiny apartment to a house. In the move, I couldn't believe the amount of guitars/bass I had in there! Buncha stuff I hardly used anyway.

And thanks, "on order" brother in arms

Congrats on the order. I suspect once ya get it you can get rid of a lot of gear you didn't before it arrived.

All needed to be happy is one EB bass one good amp and good cabs. Well maybe add a gig to do but... It will get it done.

IMHO

problem is that some of teh gear has sentimental value ... cant bare to part with some stuff due to its history ...

I haven't any sentimental value to music intruments other than my SR 5 my wife bought me and an SX P bass that my uncle refretted for me a month before he was murdered. I may even give the P to some kid around here that could use a bass an can't afford one. That is through a school or some where I can know that it will help someone to get the start they need to music.

The SR5 is all set to go to my grandson when I am a goner.

My reply was a little short of really saying all you need wasn't it?

I should say all you need to have a successful gig is on EB bass good amp good cabs and good health.

Haha...I just picked 6 'cause things happen. Obvioiusly, you at EBMM will make the basses as soon as possible, that's not at question. But necks fall out/won't fit , paint gets chipped , things happen. I know that's rare but when someone is told 5 months then wouldn't it be fair and realistic to expect on average 5 months on the first batch? If 5 months is the average than surely someone is going to be waiting CLOSE to 6 months. That's all I was saying. :D Don't hurt me  haha

I can't wait to see the new Basses when I get to SLO.

maybe we'll see mine though i assume it would be impossible to locate and/or spot in the factory.

its gonna be tough to see an HS Sterling and know that its not mine ... kinda like going to an ex's wedding. ok, maybe not that dramatic but u get the jist
