I went to see Toto last night. Absolutely amazing show. The band were so tight, Steves' playing was incredible. I was with the guitarist in my band, and he was shaking his head in disbelief at how good Steve is. His standup routine midshow was funny too, he does a good Michael Jackson impression.
Anyway, I went to the aftershow, many thanks to DaveB for getting me the passes(also thanks to the guys at Strings and Things and Derek Brooks for okaying it). I didn't get a lot of time with Luke, as you can imagine, everyone wants a piece of him at those sort of things. I did have a few words though and he very kindly introduced me to Lee Sklar. He was very cool. I couldn't convince him to change to EBMM basses though, he is pretty much set on the Dingwalls he plays.
I must say though, he gets a beautiful tone out of those basses, and is an incredible bass player, modest too. Apparently, he learnt the whole Toto set in 5 days.
All in all a great night.
