tried in a FB forum i belong to and no response. why are flamed neck basses so hard to find in any cool/wild/crazy colors? they all seem to be natural finishes, or sunburst, or trans. been watching reverb for years and have never seen one (scratch that, there was a bright yellow one-off bongo with a flamed neck a few years ago that got listed literally days after i had bought my bongo. dammit.) there was a stingray built for the music zoo a few years back that was purple sparkle with a flamed neck, but i've never seen one for sale. anybody have a wild one, or know of any? any pix?

All the "Classic" series SR4 and SR5 Basses (made 2010 to 2020) came with either Flamed or Birds Eye Maple. You were able to order which of the two you wanted. They also had a variety of finishes. There's currently a Classic series SR5 Gold in the "For Sale Of Trade" thread on this Forum. They also come up for sale on the "TalkBass" Forum. Many of the of the early EB Basses from 1985 up to circa 1990 also had nicely figured necks.

Also have a look on Reverb. There are quite a few on there in many different colours and configurations , new, nos, and used
