I currently have established two choices -

(1) If I sell a half stack of my rig (300W head and the 2x10" cab) I will get a Behringer power amplifier EP1500 (900W mono bridged on 8ohms), and since i have a SansAmp, this will sound sweet on the 1x15" cab

or

(2) If I sell the whole stack (300W head + 2x10" cab + 1x15" cab) I will get a decent combo.

Moneywise/Powerwise/Tonewise i think i will go for choice (1). I haven't found a decent combo with a good price around! I like Trace Elliots but these are overpriced here in Malta!!! As regards to GK amps, i have tried the Backlines series and i really don't like them. I cannot understand why so many Maltese bassists endorse these amplifiers, as i tried one (backline 115) and it sounded so weak.

Has anyone any experience with EBMM+Power Amplifier+SansAmp (or any Bass Driver) combination?

Do some research on the Behringer power amps before you decide to get one. I don't know anything about them, but there is usually a definite relationship between cost and power and weight and reliability. You may also want to see what people say about how true the power ratings are (or really dig into the specs yourself). Another alternative would be to get a used power amp that is known to have a great reputation and fits in with your cost & power requirements.

I tend to flip flop between playing through a head or a preamp/power amp rack rig. When I have a head that I like, I remember how nice it is to have the flexibility and higher power of the rack rig (it's easier to try different preamps). When I have the rack rig, I miss the lighter weight and convenience of a good head.

Right now I have both. A Mesa 400+ all-tube head, and an Ampeg SVP CL preamp with QSC PLX1602 power amp. Now what I need is a nice light amp head like a Mark Bass :D

I know ppl who have used the EP1500 and recommend it. I have also seen reviews on it, all good.

By the way, it's a pity that Mark Bass are not sold in Malta. Would have given them a try (since one of the main reasons i'm selling half the rig is for portability)
