today I was setting up the gtr and realized that that the eq trim controls were set all the way down. The mix trim pot was up all the way and the piezo really wasnt as loud or balanced as the mag p/ups. Each note was even and reacted evenly so I didnt give it too much thought. So a little treble and bass tweaking and WOW!!! By turning up the trim pots the piezo went from good to spectacular.

Is this normal on these gtrs that from the factory the eq is usually off or set very low? Man, this piezo smokes my other piezo loaded gtr by a mile!! The difference is unbelieveable. Even in mono, the piezo system is great. I am so happy I opted for it! I can not wait to get this gtr out on a gig.

Usually from the factory they are set to the ideal specs. Maybe it's just that your particular setup prefers something a little different?

Yeah its possible. But man, the piezo came completely to life once I opened up the trim pots. Its like turning an amps eq off and then bringing up the levels.

mess with it, just mark where the trimpots currently are that way you can set things back if necessary.

BP it came from me, it was on the wall for a month and I toyed with it through some of the amps. I like messing with the controls on store stock JPs, guess I never set that one back

Oh so the truth finally comes out huh?? Its ok Pete... I'll still be looking to you for the next MM but maybe you should take the picture and put it back in the box right away. LOL.

Guys, take notice that Pete didnt 'fess up until BP took an interest LOL!!! Thanks Sterling. Pete you still rule.

Glad to hear that you are liking the piezo - it is an awesome addition to the guitar and I wish my Limited Edition AL had one.

Hope you get to try it through an acoustic amp then it will be like changing up into 6th gear!!
