Very nice! Exactly the color choice I would pick! Might I ask why you prefer an SR5 over a Bongo5?

I have an SR5 that I love (single H) but have wondered about the Bongo's. Being a lefty, I haven't had an opportunity to play a Bongo.

I don't ever plan on parting with my SR5 but am debating now over a fretless SR4 or a Bongo as my next EBMM.

I actually prefer the Bongo BUT I already have a Bongo 5 Stealth which is my main bass & the blue one wasn't seeing much action & I've been wanting a 2 p/u SR5 so the trade was good for me. I also have a single pup SR5 as well.
Also I couldn't resist that finish. :D

I agree. Although I only have one EBMM, my other two ACME basses get pretty much zero playing time. If I do pick one of them up for awhile, they just remind me why I love my Stingray so much.

That may sound over the top but I am very passionate about my SR5. It has everything I ever wanted in a bass and nothing that I don't need. I love the fact that its a big heavy brute that plays like butter and growls like no other. It keeps me from wanting to play anything else....except maybe a fretless version, or an SR4, or maybe a Bongo 6 when they come out!

I'm officially obsessed!

Looks like the same SR5 I keep playing at GC when I'm "testing out" (read "GASsing for") the Markbass stuff. Love the SR5 but no way I would trade my Carbon Blue Bongo5 HS.

I went back to my GC a couple weeks after I bought mine there and saw another one just like it hanging on the wall. I was actually kinda bummed about it.

I hate to rain on your parade, but pretty much every GC in the country has had at least one SR5 HH Honeyburst/Tort bass. The same with the Sapphire Black Stingray HH, Desert Gold Bongo 5 HH, Sterling HSC in Natural w/ tort...etc. Doesn't make them any less BADASS...they're just not rare.:D

Well....just an update...I brought it to practice tonight along w/ my new walkabout Scout & I must say this new rig sounds fabulous. It's amazing how much ballz the amp has.....it sounds just as full as my giant Ampeg rig I just sold,,,,& less than half the weight....& the SR5 cuts through the mix BIG time.

If I make the plunge for a SR5 it will be that colour or natural and also a HH. Great looking and playing bass.

I still prefer the sound of my Bongo 5 though but to each their own....
