I traded to get a Cutlass and a Valentine, but the Valentine doesn't work.

The valentine didn't work. I tried to change the battery and broke the battery holder while doing so. I did end up discovering on TGP that I could buy a new one for about $15. I

Well I asked on the TGP which I now assume has about 100X the traffic and someone explained where I could buy the covers. I decided to buy one of their toolkits while I was at it given I was paying for shipping already. I did get it working. A wire came loose.

I don't think it was clear what you were asking ... you said you replaced the battery cover, so that suggested that you'd already bought one before.
