Hello!!

Could anyone inform me of anyway to get my Sterling bass re-sprayed professionally? Would Ernie Ball do this for me? As i'd rather get it professionally done by EB.

Thanks ,

Jack. :)

I very much doubt EB would do this.

I would suggest a good car body shop that might be open to the idea...

Failing that, you're looking at DIY.

Well, if it's a defect in the original paintjob, they'll be happy to. Even if it's that damned blue dawn color.

But, more info will be needed before we can help Mr Jack.

if youre under warranty they'll hook you up. I think if theres a "repair" and youre not under warranty theyll fix it, but charge you. i dunno what happens if you want to get a re-spray "jsut 'cause"

"Just cuz" would be answered with a "Just no."

If you are wanting a different color, or something, you'll have to go to someone like Michael Dolan (he did a great refin on a US Curbow I had, and I think he did Todd4ta's '79), or Pat Wilkins. A good refin will cost you about $250-$300.

i've thought about having my Black Sapphire Bongo refinished (heresy, I know). With a Black Sapphire neck, I can refinish the body with something interesting, and different and still neck the neck black. That way I won't lose the silkscreened logo...

Hm... Will Mr. Dolan do... paisley pink finishes?! (To repeat the words of Bassmonkeee: "Hersey, I know.") :p

Seriously.

Well, Paisley Pink isn't a paint. It's a decal that's covered in paint only around the edges, and then a clear coat. So, if you provide the paisley paper, I'm sure he could do the rest.

And, he'll certainly do pink. Heck--the Curbow he refinished in burgundy mist looked pink.

Yes, I know you were actually kidding. But, paisley still isn't done with paint.

there are a few little dings in the paintwork around the bridge, but nothing major. I suppose it would be just easier to buy another Sterling??

Thank you for all the replys!!
