Had a gig, but no new string's , except a few hour's old set of Ernie B's Stainless...was afraid they be TOO brash with my trusty ol' 77' Stingray...but to my surprise, they be BADD!! : Nice tone, felt great, and nice booty also
A nice alternative to my usual Slinky's

Play them for a week or two and your fingers should be fine.

Don't press down crazy hard when fretting/bending, and your frets should be fine too.

Tho factory issued Slinky's are MY preference, these Steel's worked out very cool! Hope you can locate a set to try!

I just put a new set of nickel Slinky's 45-100 (Factory Standard) on my Bongo yesterday. They sound great but i would like to see(hear) what the twang would be like with those steels. I come from the Geddy Lee Twang Camp. I'll probably go through juststrings.com or something, no biggie.

Hey Brent, Steel's=twang!
I'd imagine with Ceramic P.U.'s, they'd be closer to what you want, mine of course are Alnico. I was a litlle worried that it would've been TOO much "spank", but suprisingly, they were cool. Just a little knob tweaking, and I was in there. Finger's were fine after 3 1 hour set's too!

Good to hear. I usually use Rotos&^$#@ on my passives but I tried them on the Bongo and it just didn't sound right.
