If I remove all the strings for say 10-15 minutes so that I can clean and treat my Axis neck/fretboard with Birchwood Casey etc - will the truss rod adjustment change, or will it come back after the guitar is re-strung to pitch? Thanks

I have done this before and had to do a minor rod adjustment. Is the Axis w/ a floyd by chance?

If replaced with the same gauge strings it should return to normal. If not give it a little time, or gentle push in the direction it needs to go.

Every time I change the strings on my guitars (Morse, SUB with tremolo), I remove all the strings and I clean the fretboard with lemon oil.
I never break a string. Every month I change the strings (thus every month cost me 2 sets of EB 10-46 ).
I never had a problem with my setup. One of the advantage when you buy a high quality guitar :)
