I went to the Cherry Hill GC today to pick up a DI Box, and they had more EBMM guitars than they've ever had before! 3 Silos, Black Magic Crystal ASS, Honeyburst ASS, 3 AL HH models, 2 standard JPs, 2 JPX's, 2 25ths, a black Reflex, and a white Reflex. Most notably though, they had a trans blue Reflex! I couldn't believe it, I thought there was only one or two made. They also had one of those trans blue JP BFRs! It was so beautiful in person. The top on that one was amazing. To top it all off, they had a used Luke 1, although the pickups were changed. But still, I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to put EMGs back in it.

Bottom line, if you live anywhere near that Guitar Center, go and see some of the stuff they have.

Thanks, Billy Mays. Too bad I don't live near there. Maybe you could give me a limited time offer on a Learjet? :p

Well finally someone running a GC that actually knows how to stock a store. Or another way of looking at it is that the brand is getting so hot, it might just be a look into the near future. 73h nils my side is still hurting over the Billy Mays line.lmfao

That is a cheap shot.

Remember as we armchair this deal that even in the worst times GUitar Center has kept us in business. Period. Many other dealers are very important..but in the darkest and weakest business cycles guitar center orders in a month what a huge independent orders in a year. I need all dealers and appreciate all of them but you guys need to remember that over the last nearly 30 years it has been a very hard business.

That being said....we only make so many. I only plan on making so many. Guitar Center has grown to over 200 stores...if I gave them all they needed there would be nothing left for other dealers and markets. The lack of product some times is a shifting away from us (but still ordering enough to keep us clear) and sometimes because I wont allocate what they truly need.

They are getting more because of Glen Peiser. Glen was a big wig with GC and was involved in just about every aspect of GC. 2008 and 2009 were horrible years and 2010 is coming back strong..part of it is because of a managed relationship via Glen with Guitar Center and the lack of interest from a lot of the smaller dealers. Glen is making sure that all aspects of the presentation and model selection and training are happening.

I love Pete, Beaver and the Drum City and Washington Music Center, Perfect Bass dealers but I think that they understand that they would probably have no Music Man if it werent for GC

Thanks for shedding some light on the guitar business world for us BP.

Personally I like to look at the glass half full. Sure guitar center having every make model and color would make my day, but there is something special about strolling into a store (any store not just gc) and seeing something different. EBMM is different its one of those things, you walk in and immediately wonder what ernie balls guitar or bass will this one have, what new options, pickups, necks, chambering, tremolos, etc. haven't I tried and what are these going to sound like with my amp/amps of choice.
Recently with the band stuff we've travelled more. On a trip to visit a friend that plays guitar in hinder, we went by the Oklahoma city guitar center and low and behold 2 25th anniversaries are on the top shelf. Immediately I tried one and fell in love (no money though lol). (both of them are still there i believe btw) On our last trip 2 weeks ago the guy recognized we were ebmm fans and told us they had a jpx again in love and no money lol. The next time I'm sure there will be something else new and different to me that I will want to try and the cycle will continue as long as big poppa continues to innovate and be the best guitar company imho.

I love GC. It's a good company and they shoot straight. I got my first MM there for a great deal. Bought a used Orange amp there yesterday for dirt cheap too. People can complain about big companies, but in the end they are just dummyheads.

I hadn't even looked at a GC site until the limited run of 50 BB BFR JP's were announced, but got a pleasant surprise when I did check them out.

The Platinum room is friggin awesome.

The presence of EBMM is VERY significant by comparison to just about any other site I've seen....... so it goes without saying that they're going to be very important contributors to EBMM's success.

From what I've read, they've really stepped it up for EBMM in more recent times too, no ?

OK, so I haven't visited any of the stores to witness the lack of EBMM stock or product knowledge that some post about - but my first experience with them was very positive.

Sterling I do not feel I was being an armchair mod, and just said something the way it was. As I live in a big city NY, and when I was looking for my Y2D I called two GCs in NY and was told that they did not carry most of the high end Balls and I would just have to come in and order one. If things are changing at GC and the credit should go to Glen Peiser, than I think we should be grateful to him for a great job as I would believe everyone would love to see more inventory. As far as the the guys from The Perfect Bass go, I bought my Petrucci from them and they are aces in my book.
