..Do you have a preference?

That is, if you own several Axis, or JP's etc.., Is there one in particular that plays significantly better than the others.

OR

Is there one that may be a little tougher to play but has tone to the bone beyond all others?

In other words, if you had to choose just one of your "multiples", would it be an easy choice?
Thanks:)

I have a stock axis SS in natural with a rosewood fingerboard, and a clone of that guitar with a slightly better top and a bill lawarence l-500 in the bridge, as well as another axis SS in trans orange with a maple fingerboard and a dimarzio evolution in the bridge. I use the natural with the l-500 more than the other 2.

it sounds brighter than the other 2 (even before the l-500). I use 3 overdrive pedals in front of each other to completly freak out my SWRs' preamps so I find the brighter axis is a little more controlable in the top end. rolling off the tone at insanly high gain gives me a lot more tonal options. it wasn't really a "choice" so much as I just started taking that particular guitar to shows instead of the other two.

I have 2 JP7's, mostly because I beat the crap out of my guitars and break a lot of strings (.010-.056), though not as much lately.

I need a backup when we play live, so I have two. I tend to play one more than the other, not sure why. No matter what I do to my newer one, my older one still feels better and sustains a bit better.

Still a great guitar though. :)

Where's kbaim?!?! He has about a dozen Luke guitars, and he definitely has opinions! :D

Me?
what about Ernie!!!

Anyway, I only have 4 Lukes. As with any choice, you'll have a preference.

I own 3 Lukes and ALL of them play and sound different....:)
Of my 2 Luke 1s My Red one has a much slimmer feeling neck and the Fretboard Radius feels flatter. It is easier to play single note lines on. My Blue Luke 1 is Much darker sounding, has a very round feeling neck and oddly has a Very light rosewood fretboard.
These two guitars were made less than a year apart yet look Very different...
Of those 2 my favorite is my Blue Luke 1 it sounds Huge. I can't really count my Luke 2 since I altered it radically. I will say that the Luke 2 plays Totally different than the Luke 1, it feels a bit tighter but springy, probably because of the bridge. The fretboard radius also feels a bit rounder.
If I had to choose just one it would be my Blue Luke 1

I'd have 2 Morses (FR and and normal bridge), 2 Axises (SS piezo and FR) and 2 JP's (6 piezo and 7)

No preference here :D

But if I had to choose I think I would have Steve Morse EBMM. Floyd Rose, normal, modded with piezo (normal bridge), modded with piezo (FR)... 4? nah I need more :D

Hey! Don't drag me into this, I don't even own an EBMM. If I did own an EBMM, I'd probably settle for a Petrucci model.

Of my seven Axes, I have a preference for my trans-gold Axis, my Burnt Apple Axis Sport and my Axis Super Sport MM90. These three seem to have some indefinable "extra" that puts them just that touch up on the others, to my taste... But I have a friend who thinks my trans-blue Sport is the best of the bunch, and my son thinks my Warp Tour Sport with MM90s is the best of the bunch, so I'm convinced it's really just a personal thing - they're all wonderful guitars!

I've got 5 all total. See my signature. They all have their little differences, but in the end I love them all.

I have 5 Axis/EVH guitars. Though they are all very similar, the Red Axis is the cream of the crop. It sounds the best, feels the best and is always the first choice. The others sound good, but this one just sounds the best.
