Well, it has bitten and I am now completely where I want to be!

Basically, I know some of us may play other makes of bass (only occasionally) and always have our EBMM basses as our prime parts of our collection.

I cannot believe how much of a higher step up these basses are when it comes to quality control and sheer craftsmanship. None of them need any tweaks, or any mods. Thats what I like. They are great straight out of the box.

I am now stepping up into more EBMM basses. I have recently traded in some other basses, (non EBMM) as I found the EBMM just had that extra 'wow' factor.

Im now even considering a different EBMM to replace a Jazz bass I traded in, instead of searching for another Jazz.

Which one it will be, Ive no idea :)

Its going to be fun looking and Ive got some fantastic basses on order and to be ordered.

Thanks EBMM, (BP and all the Team) for the excellent work on these instruments.

You're loaded with SRs. Try a Bongo or Big AL next.

This ^^^

I think if you were considering a J replacement, the Big Al SSS is exactly what the Dr ordered! There are a couple FS I think in the FS thread too. The Olive Gold one I've had a chance to see and play personally and it is phenomenal!

This is every bass I own. The percentage of EBMMs to others is clear. I am planning on replacing my 'Ray 5H, but it'll likely be with another EBMM. They are the very peak of the diminishing returns curve.

For me, the best replacement for a Jazz is a Sterling HS. It's not that it sounds exactly like a Jazz, per se but a Sterling HS with coils 2 and 3 selected can work well if you're going for a J-Bass vibe.

Looking at your collection however, a Bongo may be your best next move to flesh things out.

I sold my US jazz bass this year and bought a very slightly used SR5 for exactly the same price. Besides the joy of having another EBMM, I figure I did very well on that deal considering the sticker prices of both instruments. I sold off another bass last night that was never getting played and am on the hunt for another lefty ray. This time I really want to find a fretless to make my collection an even six pack!

You should definitely consider a Big Al. The 5ers have definitely blown me away.

Oh - and have you seen the Bongo? Those seem to be very nice.

Congratulations, movielife. It's a really great feeling knowing that no matter what type of gig you're on or who you're playing with, you can always depend on EBMM instruments.

Wow factor is right - and reliability! I've almost always been let down in some way by other basses, but with the SR5 I used to own and my Bongo, playing is always inspirational and, well, fun. I'm well on the way to being exclusively EBMM as well. And damn proud of it.

Don't know if it is the mahogany tone block or what but the H on a Reflex HSS can be a growling beast. Add the middle pickup and you are in smooth dark Panther grrrwwwllll. This is based on my 25th, which is same as a reflex. Check it out as an option.

BTW, can never go wrong with a Bongo HH, which makes Lions run away :)
