I have a few questions...
I need to make an outline of the body to draw in the wood, but I do not own a stringray 5, but my friend owns a stringray 4.
Are the 4 and 5 the same body shape, or is the 5 slightly larger? Could I outline the s.r.4 or would the pickguard be to big for the body?

Well the thing is.
I'm making it for my woodshop class as my semester project, as we're aloud to do anything we want.

The stingray 5 doesn't have the same body... seems to me that they are two distinct instruments.

according to the EBMM website, the SR body measurements are:

13-1/2" wide, 1-5/8" thick

and the SR5 body measurements are:

13-3/8" wide, 1-3/4" thick

so it would seem there is a difference. Since I don't have one of each, can't say for sure.

Go to a GC or local music store and see if you can trace one. Tell them its for a school project and they'll probably let you do it.
