Unless you want to buy a Stingray, Sterling or Bongo bass, forget it. You cant find ANY EBMM guitars in Dallas/Plano (well there is supposed to be 1 Petrucci in Irving at Murphys). This is Fender/PRS land. One of the better shops is Larry Morgan Music in Garland TX or Charley's in Dallas. I have not been in quite a while but the Brook Mays pro shop on Woodall-Rogers has some cool high end Andersons and boutique amplifiers. We have 4 GC stores but they are useless except for the occasional string purchase.

The EBMM guitar situation is pathetic at best here. A couple years ago you'd find a few Petrucci, Luke & Axis guitars in stock. There is nothing now but OLPs. For some reason, all they(GC) want to carry are overpriced Jackson & Ibanez axes and TONS of Gibson, Fender and PRS. Now EBMM basses are another story... there are probably 25-30 in stock in DFW area.

This is why I buy all my EBMM guitars on-line from out of state shops.

That sucks.

I'm atually in Plano every once in a while (our company has a sales office there) and I've been meaning to go on a EBMM hunt.

Totally sucks.

While my main focus of GAS these days is EBMM (either a rosewood Axis SS or the new Steve Morse Y2D), I still have some GAS for either an Anderson Cobra or possibly the new Atom to fill the 24 3/4" scale slot and hang on the Anderson Forum, mostly in lurker mode.

Brook-Mays is no longer the Anderson dealer in the area; Charley's is now the dealer. There is a guy named Brian who was the main mover behind Anderson in the area; he left Brook-Mays and went to Charley's about a year ago.

However, it is a shame that there isn't an EBMM guitar presence in the area.

That'll make a week in Plano for a software training course a lot easier to cope with :D
