I saw a Rosewood Axis for the first time today at GC. It almost made me wish I was a guitar player. I have no idea what it sounds like, although I am sure its sounds great, but when I come into money and I start buying things for the hell of it, a Rosewood Axis is on my list somewhere after the house, new car and about ten EBMM basses.

Yeah, I felt that way about the Bongo- made me wish I was a bassist. Two basses later, I'm thinking maybe I should start puttting some money into the mortgage ... :D

The RW Axis is really gorgeous. That's for sure.

What?!? You mean you're not going to pursue the single-H Bongo...? :D

I played one the other day at the Sherman oaks GC. Was up there to hear my favorite guitar player (Laurence Juber at some restaurant).

It was an Axis SS. Sounded like the one I just sold DaveB (well...gave DaveB) ;)

Verdict:
Neck was unbelievable!
Don't care for the look much.
Pickups too dark in neck position, too soft in single coil.

That neck was really comfortable.

I love 'em....especially the neck. Would love to see the neck on other model Axis.....but, no complaints on my end.

Yes, the bongo is an awesome bass. I can't put mine down. Might have something in the works for me as a bass player (well, it's an attempt at being a bass player).. :D

Is the body on the Rosewood Axis still Basswood? How thick is the Rosewood cap?

Just curious.
