I dont' have much time to cut the pics for the neck... it is dirty, though.

Also... would anyone think that using a little bit of "Brasso" on the pickups (applied with a q-tip) would hurt the pickups?

I typically use WD40.Dampen a qtip with it and rub the pole pieces. Then wipe off what it lifts. Don't get carried away and it should also protect it from further rusting.

IMHO

Well the Ray cleaned up pretty well....

I didn't get all the rust off the poles and I wiped the neck down but it still kind of dirty (its in the wood, it needs a good scrubbin'). I ended up throwing a set of strings on it and hooked it up to my Ampeg rig.... I love it. It has a more trebely tone than my SR5.... I did put Super Slinkys on it, though...

Now all you got to do is get your sig straight ;)

I am thinking about changing out the pickguard (on my SR4). Maybe shell or black pearloid.

Where would be the best place to find these? Ebay? Straight from EB?

Awesome. I will give them a call. Hopefully they are not too much.

To me important is having a EB bass. Color and pickguard do not matter when it hits the amp they know I am a bass player or hate me.

Yes we all want what rings our bell for looks and sound. We all get sound no matter what EB bass we have.

Very true. I love the tone of both my Ray's. I wouldn't have it anyother way... I also think they are very beautiful instruments, and like to show them off. The black on black is very nice... but I think it would stand out more with another pickguard. :)

I torted my black/black 'Ray & I love the look of it. Mine has a rosewood fingerboard. But for some weird reason, I prefer the black/black look with maple fingerboards. I guess it's the extreme contrast of body & neck.
