I'm heading back to the states tomorrow and I needed to buy a gig bag to carry my JP in. The hard case is coming to as checked luggage but i didn't want to trust my baby to airport handlers. And this bag was the only one that offered any real padding.
Sorry to mess with you guys :p!
BTW whenever people ask me what the best part about going to college next year is I always say it's that I'll have access to real guitar shops (the ones in Kuwait don't count). And plus I'll be in CT so I'm close to that weird six-fingered guy who hangs out here!!
Maybe I can grab an EB gig bag while I'm there!! I'm sure it'll kick the Axis Super Sport of my Ibby bag!

Goodness, you are putting a EBMM inside an Ibanez gigbag?????

That's like putting a beautiful young lady in granny's nightdress and fluffy slippers...:)

Having done 4 trips to the USA in the last year, I would be very surprised if they let you take it on the plane as cabin baggage. They normally only let you take one item, and its only as big as a small holdall.

Really depends on the airline. I've had good lucking getting a gig bag through most of the time. Just suck up to one of the stewardesses and ask if they can put it with the coats.

Its not so much the airline, its more the people who check the bags when you enter the departure lounge. Even the little airport at Roanoke that I travel to quite a lot are super strict with this. Normally the airlines try to help, but if there are federal regulations in force it gets tricky.
