I'm So Not Excited, First Ball Not this weekend :(

Hey Guys,

First off, I haven't slept for awhile. Why? Because I can finally order my first real guitar this weekend! Have had a couple decent guitars, no balls though. I'm currently playing through a Mesa Boogie Triaxis, 2:90, and a marshall 1960. Sweet rig for a kid! I love it.

I've been working a new job for 6 months now, saved up some cabbage, and with some really sweet grades, my parents decided they'd let me order a guitar (course, I pay for it myself, but hey, I have permission!). Now, I have an offer for a realllly nice sounding ASS in the translucent red, which would be cheaper than getting a new one through GC. I can get the employee discount there (I work for an affiliate) and could also order one there for a sweet deal.

But here's my question: WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!??? I love all the models a lot, and my styles change very very often, in fact a few times a day. I love all kinds of music.

So I narrowed it down to:
JP6/7 (loaded) Blue Dawn (if I can find one) or the 08 LE
Silhouette- loaded, 08 LE or the vintage honeyburst
ASS- Same, loaded, 08 LE
AL- 08 LE

HELP!?

Luke, Luke, Luke!!

Er...hang on...the Luke's not on the shortlist...scratch that.

If it were me, I'd go for the AL 08LE or a Silo 08LE. But really, you can't go wrong with any you've got on your short list!

Go for it...before your parents change their minds!!! ;)

First of all: Nice Rig!!!!
I know what you mean about saving up man. And let me tell you, when you get that first ball that you've worked your ass off for, it's worth it. Big time.
As for what Ball you should get, you really can't make a bad decision. They are all, and everyone on this forum will tell you this, great instruments and you'll be happy with any of them. I'm sold on Ernie Ball for life.
If I were in your position, I'd definitely go with a 2008LE. You can, and I'm sure you eventually will, buy any other regular production color. The 2008 LE is something that's only going to happen once. Which guitar should you get? Any of them!
Cheers, and welcome to the family,

The JPs are my fave... not only in the EB family, but of any brand guitar out there! Everything about it is perfection! Once my BFR comes in i'll have my dream guitar! Well one of them anyway - my other dream guitar is a pearl white JP with all black hardware... Now THAT would be sexy...

I spied a 'used' JP6 LE 07 - Blue Dawn on 'evilbay'. The owner states there is one small ding on the front, he tried to take a picture but the pictures are pretty lousy. It looks like it might be in great shape otherwise.

I don't think you will go wrong, regardless of your choice. These are all quality instruments, and it's a quality company with proud employee's that from what I've seen, all put 110% into what they do. And what they do is pull together to make kick ass guitars, that anyone from a begginer to a hard working musician, will want to reach for everytime they want to jam!

Cheers!,

One of these with the Piezo! Maybe a different pickguard. Maybe. But definetly stay with a dark one to ensure the black bobbins.

Piezo also gets you the metal dome knobs instead of the plastic tophats.

It looks like you are into rock music from the rig that you are using, so a JP/Axis would be suitable, if you want a good all rounder go for a Luke.

Alright here's the deal:

I have to go through Guitar Center. It's the only way I can afford it because I have the employee pricing.

I think I have narrowed it down to either an ASS or the JP. I'm leaning towards:

Axis Super Sport, Pacific Blue Burst, Rosewood, Matching headstock, piezo, trem.

What do you think?
