They are completely different guitars sonicly. The BFR is more alive and has more harmonics and complexity. Save your $, as the looks are just the tip of the iceberg.
I don't know about completely different. They are the same in many respects but I know where you are coming from - I would liken the difference to that between the BMW 5 and the BMW 7 series
