O.K people, the time has come, the money has been collected and i'm almost ready to order my JP7, There's only one more problem.

Since i'm here in israel, i have absoulotly no way of checking the JP7 neck, only the JP6's one, which i have played and loved.

now, the questions are, will i also love the JP7's neck? What kind of profile does it have? Is it basically just a wider version of the 6 neck?

any form of information (Opinions, Numeric Facts, A Complete Guess) will be welcome, i need all the info I can get, pictures would be excellent.

This falls into the complete guess catergory as I only own a 6. But I imagine it will just be slightly wider to accomodate the 7th string. My next purchase will be a JP7.

I dont' own a jp7, but have played several and the transition between the 6 and 7 was quite easy and comfortable.

JP7s are rather unusual guitars, and I can't think of many people on here who own one. You might have better luck asking Paul Warren at the Petrucci Forum or Jemsite.

I have both a JP6 and a JP7. Both are very comfortable, and it was easy to get used to the feel of both, but I prefer the feel of the JP6 over the JP7, even though I prefer playing a 7 string.

And why would you say that is, Pete?

I think the back of the neck on the 7 string is a bit too flat for my tastes. I like to have a little more shape on the neck.

That being said, I've been slowly reprofiling the 7 string neck on the treble side, making it asymmentrical, like the axis. I've finished up to the 5th fret or so, and found I enjoy playing it more.

Hmm, that's actually some pretty good news for me, i do like my necks quite flat, since i am a metal player and i am used to Jack$on and Iba%ez style necks...

I really didn't understand anything out of the second part of your massage, i ain't all that familiar with the lingo, appearently...

He means that he is changing the shape of the guitar's neck so that it feels more like the Axis model. Hope that helps. :)
