I should be old and wise enough to know better.
I recently bought what I thought was going to be an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray (4) bass from eBay. When it arrived it certainly did not match the description.
Can someone help me figure out what I actually have.
The neck appears to be fairly new, no skunk stripe down the back and it has pilot holes for a six bolt mount to the body. The neck is attached to the body with a four bolt mount plate (music man logo on it). Machine heads are standard Music Man
The body has been repainted, not a bad job. It has three pots, volume and two tones. The bridge is has a serial number of 25855. It has the string dampers on it. It appears to have had a "through body string conversion" done on it.
The pickups look standard, I have not removed the pickguard to check though.
It has a standard 9v battery at the rear with what looks like the standard chrome cover.
How can I tell if I have a Music Man body, is there any way to tell?
Neil
