A guy bought a bunch of my old pickguards, including the metal one that came with my SUB bass. I was curious why one person wanted so many pickguards at once so I asked him. Turns out he makes these cool wood pickguards by hand. Then I found out they were less than most plastic ones I have found! I wanted to share with you guys cause I thought this was really cool and a really good deal if you are looking for something different.

**just a note I get nothing from this and am not affiliated other than knowing the guy and him using some of my pickguards as templates. Just so you know my hand's not in the bucket, and it's honest. :)

That's pretty cool! Maybe there's a nice pickguard in there for people with natural and transparent finishes! :D

All due respect...but IMO....they'd have to be the fugliest pg's I've seen yet

Stay with the real thing.

It would depend on the bass I guess...

Rod-

All my pickguards were from guitars and basses I owned and had replaced or gotten rid of. They were stacking up so I put them for sale cheap, and he bought them all.

Those two aren't my favorite, either. He has this Telecaster guard on his website that has flames etched on it that I think is really cool. And he does any kind of wood you want. In any case, it's amazing that a hand made guard of wood is cheaper than a piece of plastic. I'm having one made for my Les Paul Jr out of ebony.

That's what struck me. Also, being made of wood, they'd probably take longer to make??

( oh...H2H. Just looking at my original reply to your thread...it appears a little rude on my part but certainly not meant to be that way :) )

Thats cool Rod. :)

I like those SG guards, too. IU have to ask him how he does the two color thing. That's too cool.

As everyone on this forum seems to hate the metal PG of the SUB, I just wanted to console the EBMM guys : I really love those metal PG (if there had been an option fo the bong' to have one, I would have choosen this one).

Is there any reason for such a SUB PG hate or have I just ****y tastes compared to everyone here ?
