Where do you think the direction will go? If Petrucci now prefers his new 20th silo guitar over his new neck thru models what will get released to the public?

Do you think they will start a production model Silo Petrucci version? Or do you think they will go with the Petrucci model with the D-Sonic and other options?

Just a suggestion but wouldn't it be grand if they put in lower frets right from the factory and the lowest possible action so we didn't have to send our guitars to Jon to hack them up for us =]?

I personally would like one of the Silo guitars! I'd buy one of those on the spot as well.

Hero,

I think you misunderstood.. JP was playing around with a 20th anniversary Silo at Big Poppa's office. He liked it so much that Big Poppa made him some JP model guitars with the nice maple top, in the caramel burst color, with the pickups like the 20th Silo. We don't know why John and Big Poppa decided against the neck-thru other than the fact that they decided to go in another direction.

John is not switching to a Silhouette as far as we know. (And if he did, it would likely be the Silhouette 6-string bass / baritone guitar which JP likes to fool around with as well.) ;)

Hopefully someone with credentials will back me up on this. :)

Well, the 20th Anniversary Silos are available to order. Check with Pete or Bassplayr on it.

That's what i'd like to know..

Will the next Petrucci models come out be modeled after his new toy or the neck-thru versions with the d-sonic that was originally intended..

Someone hit me up some info..

I do agree that the neck needs to be cut a bit deeper for better access to the 24th fret.

If there is a "next Petrucci model" it will be when John Petrucci asks for it, and it will be whatever he asks for.

Who knows, it could be a double-necked guitar like Michael Angelo Batio has :D JP calls Sterling, Sterling calls Dudley, big pow-wow in SLO, click your heels together 3 times and BANG! new JP model.

Whatta hell does everyone have against Blackmore and HIS decision for HIS ideal music playing?!?!?!

As far as the JP geetar goes, i think the proto that BP had made for him should suite a Anniversay model just fine. That thing looks SOOOO beautiful and is making me buy the 20th Silo later this year before they are no more.

Having seen video evidence of Mr Blackmore and Blackmore's Knight, I feel I can comment on this subject.

It made me PMSL!

:D

So, this new JP then. Will it have Picasso-style graphics?!

That would rule - I have a secret desire to by another JP6 and get it painted with the Picaso graphic (Primary colors version from the JPM P1 of course)

:D

I was joking, hence the little face icon. I see you use those little faces, too!

(And my joke really had more to do with Petrucci making a change of direction than taking a stab at Blackmore's choices.)

I have a feeling BP is going to jump in here and call us all "knuckleheads" again. And so he should. :)

Why the running? It wasn't a 'Nez design. It's a design created by an artist and then adapted by JP surely [with the help of a designer I'm not sure] - beginning to ramble!

or have I missed your point?

this is the most confused message ever, sorry everyone.

Actually, it was created by Dan Lawrence for Ibanez and JP saw it, thought it was cool and used it. It became associated with him thereafter. But Ibanez owns the copyright to it, so it's safe to say you'll never see it anywhere else again (except maybe from a certain little angry guitar maker who seems to ignore copyrights and trademarks ). :)

I seriously hate that guy.

My one teacher has an Original Paul Reed Smith guitar. First year they were made which was like 1983 maybe? It was serial number 70 or 7, I think.

So he decides to call Ed Roman because he heard so many stories about this guy. He calls Ed Roman up and can't even get him on the phone. One of his flunkies answers and is like.

"Hey I own an old paul reed smith im wondering what its worth."
"Uhh sorry were busy here we don't have time or want any paul reed smith guitars"
"Well I think its pretty old its serial number 70"
"uhh hold on a second"

<10 minutes of nothing>

Ed: "WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
Teacher: Yeah I got a PRS here
Ed: So
Teacher: yeah its serial number 70
Ed: What? Thats impossible no you don't
Teacher: yes I do
Ed: HOLD ON A SECOND

<5 mins of nothing>

Ed: I'll give you 50 bucks for it
Teacher: haha :click:
