I think I have something from 97, where the pic on the front is a guy on a Harley with what looks like a 3 string MMSR on his back.

Any good to you?

JB1...that's the Apl 1996 Cat, which I have thanks. But can you check the date on the back page, just to be sure?

Check the back issues of Bass Player magazine. The issue with Tony on the cover with the 3 string is great , he goes into detail about the bass and why a bassist only needs 3 strings. The one reason I remember is that "G strings are for strippers".... :D
