So, wandered down to pretty much the only live music venue in this Spanish town last night as is my wont at midnight, Some rock band on.... "7 Puertas". Normally I give a wide berth to long haired guys in old T- shirts, but there isn't much else to do.
As ever I took a look at their gear and what was standing on stage before me but a blueburst EBMM Steve Morse.....never seen one before.
This is one of the EBMM models that interest me the least because
1. It doesn't exist for lefties
2. All those pickups
3. All those knobs & switches
4. See #1
5. That stuff about long haired guys in old T-shirts......
Talked to the owner before they started who told me he'd been able to try one out before buying (normally pretty impossible in Spain) as a friend was a big EBMM fan.....he said he loved it.
Anway, they started playing and I was very impressed. A good singer (very rare over here) and some catchy songs. The Morse was played through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and sounded awesome. It seemed able to do Fendery rhythm sounds, Gibsony bluesy leads and even a nice clean acousticy type thing. Tasteful guitar playing too.
Sadly my camera was at home, but a lesson learned about putting guitars into categories....I think this one is just an awesome all-round instrument.....I still can't have one though.
