So a few months ago there was a thread that mentioned guitar center (dont remember the name of it, but i believe the thread starter was told by a GC center employee to look at XX bass instead of a MM or something...). Anyway in this thread I voiced my opinion about my last couple of visits to my local GC, and mentioned that the basses were usually dirty and out of tune. Well this thread continued for a while and several other people shared some similar stories of their own. Much to my surprise a few days later someone from GC posted a reply stating he had already put the wheels in motion to address the issues discussed in the thread. I was pretty impressed that GC was A. keeping an eye on customer feedback as closely as they are and B. they were ready to spearhead the problems so quickly. So, while i was impressed, i still hadnt managed to make it up to GC to see if they had infact addressed the issues and since its been a while if they are making sure these issues dont come back. Well I finally needed some new strings for my Sterling so i stopped by the castleton GC to pick up some fresh EB SSs. And well, I have to admit I was very impressed. Every bass in the room was shiny enough to see your self in and although I only played 3 Stringrays while i was there, every one of them was in tune and ready to play. Aside from someone briefly telling me they're available if i need them, i was left completely alone to test whatever bass i wanted. I got to play a few different SRs for about 15 to 20 mins completely undisturbed. The Jeff Berlin markbass combo was awesome, but there was a tobacco burst SR 4H that i pretty much fell in love with. now dont get me wrong, i have no inclination to get rid of my sterling, but im definitely seeing a SR sometime in the hopefully near future. To top it all off it totally made my day when as i was walking out, the guy at the door told me he really dug my playing, always a bonus. All in all, i have to tip my hat to GC. they listened to custmer feedback, acted on it, and seemingly made the fixes stick. Epic Guitar Center Win
