I had a guy email me this morning asking me if i was interested in selling my EVH collection!

No monitary amounts have been discussed yet, but he sounds serious!

I'm in a pickle! That is a lot of cash, and i never thought about if this would happen!

Most likely nothing will come of it, because i wont let them go for nothing less than top value, but it makes you think!

Well brent...you have to ponder some things. I would ponder about the amount of time and effort you spent on getting strictly EVH's and what it cost. Would you go back to collecting them again? If so, again, the pain of finding and getting them.

It is a hard decision, but, you will do what is best for you. Good luck bro.

Absolutely do it!. The chase is the best part. Build it up again and turn another profit.
If you sold your collection and had a tidy profit you would have started your next collection with the gold killer top...It's a game and they are still available.....have fun

Dont do it. I envy the collection you have its great. i have always told my wife if i came into money i would buy one of every color axis they make and every evh that was on e-bay. lol i would go crazy. Really though you would really regret selling them after the fact.

I think it really depends what part of the process you like most- chasing them or having them.

From the way you've been swaping them and almost sold them before, I'd have to guess that you love the thrill of the hunt. So in that case I'd say let 'em go and start over. They're just things and you can get more of 'em

I'd say for the most part, talk is cheap. For all you know, this was some 10 year old kid asking to buy your collection with his allowance.

I get hundreds of emails a year on my guitars since I have website to display them. Lots of the emails I get say "if you ever want to sell so-and-so, email me". Sure enough, when I do decide to sell that guitar, the person that wanted it can't pay for it. I've even had people just offer me good money for certain guitars out of the blue. 99% of the time, when I say "OK, sold!", you never hear from them again.

I wouldn't sweat it until you figure out if the buyer is for real or not.

You are right, talk is very cheap, just from past experience, when selling my guitar gear, you have to filter through 1,000's of dreamers, kids who haven't got any money, just plain f^&kwits, etc etc just to get to a serious buyer, and hopefully by then you haven't lost your cool and blow the sell.

Money talks, you know the rest.

Scott.
