Those guys at MLP.com are pretty creative when it comes to poll ideas. I've seen the weirdest polls around like asking which particular audio taper fits a solid body Les Paul better than a chambered one. Hahaha...

But this latest one is interesting, and I thought BP & Gang might be interested to see this.

What brand of string is everybody using these days? - My Les Paul Forums

String brands. Not surprising that EB came out tops, but the clear domination by 2 brands is what i was surprosed to see. i expected a pretty fragmented distribution, where there is perhaps just one distinct leader, but is this poll is to be believed (considering the highly specialised focused group), then the strongest competitor to EB is D'Addario, which is probably no surprise. Just that I'd have expected DR and GHS to be pretty much in demand. Mind you, this is a group who likes nickel strings over SS strings, so I expected Pyramids to come out tops. Then again, the group involved might be different to what I expected...

That said, I think that lead by EB might be extended over the next few months with the Cobalts. I for one am dying to try them...

I played D'Addario for the longest time until I got my first EBMM and it came stringed with RPS Slinkys. Then I realized the Slinkys sounded just as good as the D'Addarios and didn't corrode as quickly.

Done deal for me at that point...
